ONCC Announces New Club Structure – Volunteers Needed

Rory Seymour13 Mar - 12:06

Exciting developments at the club

With the season approaching and loads of great work going on behind the scenes, we wanted to give our members an update on our plans and the new committee structure.

Following our recent AGM, we have introduced a refreshed leadership and operational structure to support our new 2026–2030 Strategic Plan. These changes will help us make decisions faster, improve communication, and strengthen cricket across all sections of the club.

? A New Executive Committee
A streamlined Executive Committee will now lead the club’s strategy and governance and is made up of:

Chairman - Tom Webb
Secretary - Andy Edmonds
Director of Senior Cricket - Richard Ingman
Director of Junior Cricket - Simon Vickers
Director of Women & Girls Cricket - Stuart Smith
Head of Communications & Social - Rory Seymour
Head of Ground Operations - Malcolm Thomson
Financial Controller - Carolyn Willett
Safeguarding & Wellbeing Officer - Phil Evans

This group will provide clear direction and support the teams delivering cricket and member experience week to week. They will also be supported by volunteers as well as our senior team captains:

Club captain - Harry Vesty
2nd XI captain - George Edmonds
3rd XI captain - Steve Ball
4th XI captain - Josh Bean
5th XI captain - Stuart Smith

? Four Operational Pillars
The club will now operate through four focused pillars:
• Cricket – Senior, Junior, Women & Girls
• Environmental – Grounds, facilities, equipment, sustainability
• Membership & Social – Communications, events, member experience
• Economic – Sponsorship, grants, fundraising
Each pillar has a dedicated team and clear responsibilities.

? Volunteers Needed
? Environmental Pillar volunteers
We have a lead in place, and a small volunteer group but any extra help is welcome and will help make our ground one to be proud of.
No grounds experience required — just good organisation and a willingness to coordinate a strong team.
? Social Events Support
We’re looking for volunteers to help plan and run social events such as BBQs, quiz nights, awards evenings, and family days.
? General Volunteers
We’re also building a pool of helpers for matchday setup, junior festivals, working parties, and one off tasks.
Even an hour makes a difference.

? Looking Ahead
This new structure strengthens our governance, supports cricket development, and improves the experience for all members. If you’d like to get involved in any way, please speak to a committee member or contact us through Pitchero.
Together, we’re building a stronger, more sustainable ONCC.
